Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.
Moving day is coming up pretty soon! Twelve days to be exact. I leave my job in eleven so of course I'm excited about that too!
I plan to be more active with this blog once we get settled down and moved in, that's for sure!
I still don't know if I will wait a while to start work again or try to find a job immediately once I get there. I really don't want to work but everyone is telling me I will be so bored if I don't. So I don't know what to do. If I do anything I'd like it to be super-part time, maybe enough to make a car payment every month since I do want a new car (Kia Soul's are what I drool over). We'll see. I think I should just settle in and adjust to our 'new' life before starting the job hunt.

the perks of working with the public.
(just sometimes, though)
There's this customer who comes in on a semi-regular basis; he's a retired Navy chaplain who has done a lot of work with Marines. He's always telling me about something military related, offering advice, stuff like that.
So today he comes in with this present for me; and guess what it is?
That print on a metal poster!
I loveeee it, of course. That's totally a picture of my fifties-alter-ego self.
I mean, how awesome is that? That is why I like working there; because there are still genuine people who really care and what to make you happy. This guy could be like my grandpa, we have a relationship almost as good as blood family.
So as you can tell, that totally made my day. I would send a picture of it to B but those recruits might get their panties in a wad if they see some female legs, so never mind. He'll just have to wait and see it when he comes home :)
In other news; I have booked our "honeymoon!" We didn't get a real one when we got married (a product of getting married so young) so we're definitely going to enjoy ourselves. I only booked it for three nights, but part of me wants to stay longer. We'll see how the cards are played.
I tried to upload pictures of my new [to me] awesome red dress, but Blogger apparently doesn't like it. :'( Hopefully tomorrow!

weekend recap and some news.
We'll start off with the news: I heard from my brother today and he has been assigned his permanent duty station! He's headed to Ft. Riley as part of the 1st Infantry division. He's excited and so am I! I can't wait to see him at the end of this summer.
I worked all weekend as you all know, luckily it flew by so quickly and I hardly had time to mope around and complain like usual. I stayed on my toes through all the shifts and God gave me patience to deal with the usual nonsense that occurs daily.
I have received a few letters from B since I've last updated. He got his wisdom teeth out a few days ago and was put on light duty for two days. I bet he's all swelled up like a chipmunk right about now, but maybe not. He said a ton of the guys are having knee problems (including himself) so they're all being watched closely. His blood pressure has came down significantly...which is AWESOME because it was pretty high in the weeks leading up to him leaving. I'm sure it was all just nerves though and he's normal now. He said they eat salt packets every day to stay hydrated and that they also have to pour salt all over their food for the same reason. (yuck...?)
And this next statement will sum up pretty much everything that went on in my head all weekend: What is wrong with people?!
Question time! What is your favorite love song? B told me to buy 'comforting' music with the iTunes card he got me and I'm kind of drawing a blank and I've only purchased seven songs. Help me!
Have a fabulous week (but I'll probably write more before then)!

on edge.
I. Am. So. Tense.
Maybe that's where all these aches and pains I've never had before have been coming from. Usually at night or late in the afternoon my collarbones, shoulders, and all the way down my arms and sometimes my back just radiates with this dull, achy pain. I don't know why. It's been happening for about two months now.
Oh, my neck. It's hurting too.
This is really annoying.
At first I thought it was my shoes, so I bought some new over-priced ones I thought would do the trick, but to no avail.
I don't know if I should go to a doctor or not (probably won't) but it's just weird because I've never felt this before. However, I have been super tense and stressed about everything lately, mostly with the anticipation and d r e a d of the upcoming departure of my husband.
Question for other mil-spouses: Pre-deployment/pre-anything (in this case, boot camp) does your husband get really irritable and...rude? Today mine said, "I don't care if you come to my graduation, go to your brother's instead if it's that important."
Whaaat? I don't think he really meant that, but they way he said it really, really hurt. Why wouldn't I want to go to his USMC graduation? That made it seem like he didn't want me there. Wouldn't you feel the same way? That's going to be one of the proudest moments of his life thus far and I bet deep down inside he would really be darn upset if I didn't show up. I'm his WIFE.
I hope he didn't mean that. I doubt he did. But the over-thinker in me is (of course) worrying about it.
Back story: My brother graduates from Army boot camp the week before B...I've been told that no, I cannot get off work for that...it's been a big enough deal getting off for B's. I'm almost to the point of this: "Hell with ^&*%ing work, it's my brother and my husband, I am NOT missing either of those graduations!"
My brother and I are so close. So, so close. It kills me to know I probably won't be able to go to his grad, it really does. I'm about to cry thinking about it, actually. If he gets into Airborne school there's graduation for that, but it's not the same.
I just want to quit. But do to unforeseen circumstances, I'm not allowed to. AND IT SUCKS.
I'm about to throw a two-year-old-temper-tantrum about it. I'll stomp my foot and whine and cry and pout and blubber 'til I get my way.
All that is why I'm on edge. Everything is annoying me, I have nightmares about everything, can't sleep good, and I think I'm losing weight. My pants wouldn't stay up today. I don't usually have that problem.
Tell me it gets better?

drained.
-->I love this picture of BJ and Gracie. Sooo cute.BJ is at work now, like usual on a Monday. Lately he (or I should say, we) have gotten into the habit of sleeping an hour later...this means he doesn't ride the bus, but has to drive to work every day. Not good. I told him today was the last day we can sleep in; we can't afford the gas it takes to drive down there 5x a week. At that rate, we'd have to fill up with gas 2x a week. Too much.
My job is really stressing me out...I've been getting my rash on my arms and legs this past week because work is THAT BAD. I pulled 43 hours last week because I covered two extra shifts, and it really wore me out. To top it all off, I have to work 8 days in a row before I get my next day off. (Well, it will be this coming Wednesday, but still, that's a lot of work). I come home every day (at about 10:30pm) completely worn out and in a bad mood because I pick up everyone's slack. As much as I want to say no, we need the money and if I ever get less than 30 hrs a week, I'll be covering shifts for people.
Which is why I am looking for a new job. But there's only so much I can do with no college degree...so I'm pretty much forced to go to college now. No way around that.
BJ is off work tomorrow; so we're going grocery shopping. I have to go into work at 4, but that should be enough time to get everything done. We'll have to dip into our savings account because our checking acct is a little low...we had to buy a new tail-light for his car (because on our wedding night he backed into a pole in the hotel parking lot...and it's taken us this long to get it fixed).
I just can't bring myself to do the dishes. I've been putting them off for two days but I'll know they need to be done. I'd rather sleep until I have to go to work.
